Wisper special features

It’s all in the detail
As you would expect, Wisper bikes are built to the same high standards as the most expensive electric bikes on the market. However when we design and build a Wisper bike we like to give our customers a little extra.  Here are just a few of the details;

All Wisper bikes

Front Connection box (FCB)

The FCB is an innovation designed by the Wisper team to give two distinct advantages over other electric bicycles.  The primary function is to make the procedure for changing any of the electronics on the handle bars as simple as possible.  Rather than having to chase the cables from the handle bars all the way back to the controller, the FCB enables this to be done at the front of the bike, saving up to 90% in labour time.  The secondary advantage is the box tidies the cables on the bike and reduces the number of wires being run back to the controller to one single cable.

Hi Lo switch

To give our customers total control of the amount of power being delivered to the motor, we use a unique combination of a throttle used in conjunction with the High Low switch. The High button when pressed will light an LED light and put the bike into High mode, the Low button does the same putting the bike into Low mode. In High mode when the pedelec assistance starts working the rider will immediately get 80% of the power available from the motor which can be increased to 100% simply by using the throttle.  Low mode delivers 40% of the power and is safer to use in heavy traffic, severe road conditions or when the rider chooses to use less assistance than normal. The rider can adjust the power all the way up to 100% again by using the throttle control.

Red Button

For added safety and the ability to turn off or on all the power to the bicycle whilst riding without having to reach down for the key, we have installed an on / off switch on the left hand side of the throttle.

Hand built frames

Unlike lower quality mass produced electric bikes all Wisper bike frames are individually handmade and welded ensuring our frames are immensely strong and perfectly balanced.

705 and 905
Alex rims and stainless steel spokes as standard
All new 705 and 905 bikes (not eco) have X2100 Alex Rims and stainless steel spokes.  Alex Rims are recognised as amongst the best are strong, precision machined and perfectly balanced. The V type semi-aero rim profile features a wear line indicator, the 0.3mm deep circumference line appears on both sidewall surfaces. When a sidewall becomes thinner the colour of indicator become lighter and hard to tell the difference between the CNC machining and the indicator, it’s recommended to replace the rim. The Indicator is Alex’ patented design for rim safety & security.

Conical guard and connector
To make removal of the back wheel as simple as possible, to mend a puncture or change tyres for example, we have designed a semi conical guard that fits under the controller box.  Under the guard you will find an electrical connector enabling simple and effortless disconnection of the back wheel from the controller.  The conical design also helps draw air through the controller housing keeping the controller cool and dry as well as adding extra protection to the cable system.

The conical guard can easily be removed by undoing four stainless steel bolts.

Easy access and maintenance

If it is ever necessary to locate the computer that manages the Wisper electronics system.  The controller can easily be located behind an alloy plate on the side of the bicycle under the battery.

Folding Keys

After feedback from customers telling us that keys were being snapped off during riding, all our keys now have a folding finger plate so they lay flat against the battery.

Interchangeable batteries

As more and more couples are buying Wisper bikes we felt there was a need to make sure the batteries were interchangeable.  Customers with both 905 and 705 Wisper bikes with the same size batteries, can now swap from one to another when needed.  Note; to swap a 8A for a 14A battery it is necessary to change the battery stay.

Super high range batteries

On both the 905se and 705se bikes the super high power 37V 14A battery is standard.  Ranges of up to 120km (75 miles) have been achieved under pedal assist on both these bicycles. To calculate the power of a battery (Wh) simply multiply the Volts by the Amps making the Wisper 905se and 705se at 518Wh almost double the power of the majority of the most expensive bikes available.

Cable management

To keep cables neat, tidy and out of harm’s way but at the same time making sure that they are easily accessible the 905 and 705 frames have an integral cable management system.

705se only

Coat and Skirt guard

To avoid the possibility of one of our customer’s coats or skirts making contact with the spokes and tyre of the rear wheel, we have installed a coat and skirt shield on all 705se Wispers.

905se City and Sport only

Riser handle bars

To give the 905se rider the best possible riding position we have made riser handle bars standard.

Easy adjust handle bars

To take full advantage of the superb riser handle bars we have set them up with our locking clamp mechanism which enables our customers to adjust the position of the bars until perfection is reached!

We will keep you updated as we introduce new and exciting changes.
